Who we are
Operetic provides fractional executive leadership to scale-up and mid-cap businesses. This notice explains what personal data we collect through operetic.com, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
Operetic is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are a United Kingdom business; our company registration details and registered address will be published on this page once incorporation completes.
Questions about this notice, or any request relating to your data, should go to info@operetic.com.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, work email address, company, an indication of annual revenue, the area you are interested in, and whatever you choose to write in the message field. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and, if it progresses, to discuss an engagement.
Form submissions are not stored in a database on this website. They are sent directly to our inbox as email.
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability purposes.
If you consent to statistics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how the site is used — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. This only happens after you accept. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.
The typefaces used on this site are served from our own domain. No request is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so your IP address is not disclosed to a font provider when a page loads.
Legal bases
- Responding to an enquiry — legitimate interests, namely responding to someone who has approached us about our services.
- Analytics cookies — consent, which you give or withhold through the cookie banner and can change at any time.
- Server logs and security — legitimate interests in keeping the site available and secure.
Who processes your data
We use the following providers. Each processes personal data on our behalf, under contract.
- Hostinger — website hosting, including server logs.
- Microsoft 365 — our email. Enquiries you send us are received and stored here.
- ZeptoMail (Zoho) — sends email generated by the website, such as your enquiry reaching our inbox. Processed in the European Union.
- Google Analytics — website statistics, only with your consent. See international transfers below.
- Complianz — records your cookie choices so we can honour them and demonstrate that consent was obtained.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
International transfers
Google Analytics is operated by Google, which processes data in the United States. Those transfers rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses. Analytics data is only transferred if you have consented.
Our email and transactional email providers process data within the European Economic Area.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries — kept for 24 months from our last contact with you, then deleted, unless we have entered into an engagement and need to keep records for longer.
- Analytics data — retained by Google for 14 months, the retention period set on our Analytics property.
- Consent records — kept for as long as required to evidence that consent was given.
- Server logs — retained by our host for a short period for security purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — for cookies, by using the cookie settings on this site.
To exercise any of these, email info@operetic.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the European Union.
