The drill results were excellent. The share price did not move
For listed small caps, the distance between doing something genuinely well and being valued as though you have is usually a communications gap rather than a geology or engineering one. This is the seat that closes it, without resorting to hype that buys a week and costs a reputation.
Translation, not promotion
Technical boards are usually excellent at the thing they do and under-resourced for the commercial story around it. There is no internal team, the cash that would fund one is better spent on the asset, and the result is disclosure that satisfies the rules and explains nothing. The market then prices what it understands, which is less than what you have.
This seat works directly with the people who hold the technical knowledge and turns dense announcements into plain English: why a deposit matters, what the metallurgy means, what the result changes. That is teaching rather than promoting, and it attracts holders rather than traders. The distinction matters because the two respond to completely different things and only one of them is still there in a year.
It is deliberately not a raise. Funding rounds, data rooms and diligence are a different discipline and we do not claim them. If that is what you need, we will say so rather than take the engagement.

If more than two of these are true, the market is guessing
Announcements are technically accurate, cleared by the lawyers, and land with no measurable effect on anything.
The register is full of names nobody on the board has spoken to, and you learn what holders think from a bulletin board.
Peers with worse assets carry better ratings, and the explanation offered internally is that the market is wrong.
News flow is timed around when work finishes rather than around what the market is ready to understand.
The investor deck, the website and the last announcement describe the business in three different ways.
Every share price move is a surprise, in both directions, and nobody can say afterwards what caused it.
Four areas of ownership, not a retained press office
The Narrative, And Who It Is For
What the business is, why the asset matters and what would have to be true for the thesis to work, written so that a generalist investor can follow it without a degree in the subject. Most technical stories are not too complex to tell. They have simply never been told to anyone outside the room.
News Flow, Timing And Tone
What gets announced, when, and in what register. Timing and tone are the difference between building credibility and buying a spike that reverses. The market has a long memory for companies that oversold a result, and a longer one for boards that did it twice.
The Shareholder Base, Actively
Who holds the stock, who nearly does, and what either group is waiting to hear. Moving the conversation onto channels the company owns, rather than leaving it to forums, turns sentiment from something that happens to you into something you can see coming.
Board Advisory On The Market View
A commercial counterweight to a technically expert board: what a decision looks like from outside, what a delay will be read as, and where silence is the most expensive option available. This is judgement in the room, not a service delivered to it.
Institutional-grade, without the institution
The point of a fractional seat here is that a junior or small cap gets the communications infrastructure a much larger company runs, without carrying the overhead that would eat the cash better spent on the asset. Where the work turns into something defined, whether a set of investor materials rebuilt, an engagement platform stood up and instrumented, or a website that finally matches the story, we take it on through our delivery teams or manage the suppliers you already have. Leadership and delivery are quoted separately, because a blended rate is a quiet incentive to recommend more delivery.

Before you take this to the board
No. Raise readiness, data rooms, diligence and term sheets are a different discipline with a different buyer, and we do not claim it. What this seat does is the standing work that makes a raise easier when it comes, because a market that already understands the business is a materially cheaper audience to ask for money. If you need the round itself run, we will tell you that plainly rather than take the engagement.
An agency is engaged to get coverage, and is measured on it. That is a legitimate service and it is not this. This seat sits with the board, advises on the decision behind the announcement rather than its distribution, and is accountable for whether the market understands the business over years rather than for whether a story ran this week.
Often the opposite. A company with little to report is exactly the one whose few announcements have to land, and the fractional structure exists so that the cost matches the stage. What would be premature is a full-time in-house function, which is why almost nobody at this size has one and why the gap this fills is so common.
Both sit outside the business looking in, which is why they share a practice, but they face opposite directions. A NED faces the board and asks whether the decision is sound. This faces the market and asks whether it has understood the decision. Boards sometimes need both, frequently need one, and we will say which.

Three years advising a technical board on the market view, interim product and marketing leadership at C-suite, and a seat on the board of the Institute of Interim Management.

The other half of the practice: independent challenge in the room, from somebody who can afford to be unpopular.

A result the market did not price, a register you have never spoken to, or a rating that does not match the asset. A direct conversation, not a credentials deck.
